Smartphone and Tablet GPU Market Share 2016: ARM Captures Almost 50 Percent Share

The global smartphone and tablet GPU market registered a healthy 4.8 percent year-over-year shipment growth in 2016, despite the decline of tablet GPUs. ARM gained a significant market share on the strength of its ARM Mali GPU momentum in smartphone and tablet GPUs, which featured in several high volume chips from MediaTek, Spreadtrum and Samsung LSI. ARM’s Mali GPU-based chip shipments registered a sold 29 percent growth in 2016. This report provides smartphone and tablet GPU vendor share from 2013 to Q4 2016.
