Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US, Western Europe, and China regarding their interest in technologies likely to comprise the framework for the next generation of in-vehicle connectivity: Wi-Fi, wireless charging, and NFC. Consumer interest in NFC is lower than interest in the other technologies due to lack of awareness, though NFC advances such as Apple Pay are likely to quickly change consumer awareness. Female consumers tend to be more interested in Wi-Fi and wireless charging than male consumers. Interest in NFC tends to skew slightly younger than interest in Wi-Fi and wireless charging.
