Baseband Market Share Tracker 2014: Qualcomm, MediaTek and Spreadtrum Capture Combined 80 Percent Volume Share

The global market for cellular baseband processors grew a healthy 14 percent year-on-year to reach $22.1 billion in 2014. For the first time on an annual basis, LTE baseband revenue accounted for over 50 percent of total baseband revenue in 2014. Qualcomm continued its baseband market lead with 66 percent revenue share, followed by MediaTek and Spreadtrum. This report tracks the cellular baseband unit shipments, ASPs and revenues of 21 baseband chip vendors across six air interface technologies on a quarterly basis, and includes provisional data up to Q1 2015.
