Connected CE Devices Global Market Forecast

Our latest research indicates that revenue in the global Consumer Electronic (CE) device market, represented by a basket of 17 devices, is expected to grow by 7% reach US $809 billion in 2012. Growth in revenue varies across the six major regions covered in this report – Western Europe, which is still troubled by Eurozone crisis, is expected to grow by just 1% in 2012, while North America and APAC will see revenue growth of 7% and 8% respectively in 2012. The Asia Pacific region accounts for 35% of the total CE market revenue, while North America represents 22% of the total revenue. Connected CE devices represent 80% of total revenue in the consumer electronics market in 2012, and this figure is set to rise to 94% by 2016. The connected CE device market is being driven by unit sales of Connected TVs, Notebooks, Ultrabooks, Smartphones and Tablets. The installed base of all connected CE devices is expected to climb to 3.4 billion units by the end of 2012.
